Firmware upgrade*

Q: How to FF through AVI or MKV files?
A: Click TIME button on the remote. The bottom numbers give you total length of the film. The top set let you key in the time in the film you want to go to. Press OK and you will move to the specific time spot of AVI or MKV file.
Q: I accidentally switched language to Chinese from English. How can I switch back?
A: Click HERE to switch language back to English
Q: I made upgrade and cannot boot device. What to do?
A: Customer upgrade of the firmware voids warranty of the product. Please, contact Tomacro at http://www.tomacro.com/english/contact.htm to get your product replaced/repaired

I had ALOT of expectations from this and aside from the .mkv support I'm sorry to say I'm disappointed.

THE GOOD:
Plays .mkv files beautifully! That’s about it.

THE BAD:
1. No "Random Play" of MP3 files. For the price of the LIM (which doesn't include the HD) and with today’s technology this is simply unacceptable. I just assumed it had this feature. But who wants to play one song then after its done pick another song, play it, pick another, play it, etc, etc. Also, while the song is playing, you can't browse for another - very disappointing.
2. "VirtualCD" feature is pointless. One can simply play MP3s from the 'Music Playback' button. Why have another folder labeled "VirtualCD"?
3. Photo playback is awkward at best. You get a black screen between the transitions of pics. Not 'smooth' at all. Also no slideshow feature.
4. You do not have the ability to copy, move, paste or delete files. Not a big thing but I again assumed it had this ability.

I did not try any of the Network features but I've read in forums that some people had problems getting it up and running.

If the LIM will be able to play MP3s randomly sometime in the NEAR future my score will change. But for now I’m thinking I should have gone with an HTPC.

hy . first , sorry for my bad english , its not my first language ........
after spending hundreds of bugs for other media players from big name brands like datalink,syslink,vibe,etc i was really disappointed . they work , but not really good and they have verry limited connections for my projector . and they have problems with my legal dvd backups to play them . or even with new divx files .

but then i saw the tamacro .
my first thought , hm tomacro , whats that ? never heard about it and 350 bugs , aua ....but i was not happy with my other ones , so i thought , well i try it .
and thank goodness i did .......i have no words , he is sooooo great , heavy like a stone , cause he is not out of cheap plastic like most of them , instead they use good looking aluminum etc . even the plugins are rocksolid . dvds are normally in 720 resolution , but my projector can support up to 1920p resolution , so i set the tomacro in 1920p and my beamer also , and normally it shall make no sense
cause it is only recorded in 720 resolution , but pictures dont lie and let me tell you it is an amazing picture in 1920p , tons better than before . even a 2,5" ext harddrive is working great .
only plug it in , go to usb and then you can play direct from the ext harddrive your movies ....and no difference then playing it from the internal drive .
so end of story , did i get what i paid for ? hell yessssssssssss , even half the quality and i would have been happy ....
and onlybestrated shipping it soooo safe and fast , first i thought they included a desk too ....hhahahaha and some little presents , so thanks ..
negative sides , hm , oh yes , no batteries included ...hahhahahah so be prepaired to have two aaa size batteries at home ...hahhaha
