I was looking for a decent DVD player that would replace my PS2.. this is the best player by far for the money. It plays almost every video format under the sun, and will even upsample! Ordering from North-Eastern USA, I got my order in 4 days. Very happy with the video quality!

The DVD player I received was originally defected. After receiving the replacement, I just love this player. I spent a long long hours and many days looking for a DVD player and this truly satisfies all my picky requirements with a good price. It reliably plays pretty much all the formats I use including avi, Dvix, mpeg, not to mention all DVD's (all regions). I love this player and very very happy with this. Remote control looks cheap but works perfectly, maybe a little bit slow. But the player looks hella nice, thin and slick.

This player is no available in US and not supported by LG customer services since the product is only available in Canada and will be shipped from Canada. But OBR provides a good service, which immediately sent me a replacement, so don't worry.

Amazing dvd player, plays all my xvid and divx! It upconverts everything to 1080i through the HDMI connector worth a buy just for this feature alone, adds new life to all my dvd's! Loaded the region free cd with no problem now plays all my Pal dvd's. This dvd player is very sleek looking the pic on this site doesn't do it justice, not only does it look good it uses the Faroudja chip for the progressive scan DCDI which produces the highest quality pic you can get in a dvd player! Love this player! The quality of this player is much higher than my Panisonic or Toshiba players!! I would recommend this player to anyone who has HD ready TV because you will be amazed how your dvd's will look in 1080i...WOW for $159 USD how can you go wrong!!

I received my LDA-531 on Friday afternoon and within about 5 minutes had the unit showing my DVDs in 1080i format! Excellent output! Being from the US I could not get an upconverting DVD player of this quality for this price. I highly recommend... unless you are wealthy and can afford the $699 Denon upconverting DVD player.

Just got it!! Plays everything I have even Qpel encoded..I love this dvd player.
